Malin Akerman To Replace Lindsay Lohan in Inferno

Lindsay Lohan had been casted as the lead in a biographical role for the film, “Inferno”, a movie that is set to tell the story of  starlet Linda Lovelace. The actress stared in the 1970’s revolutionary movie, “Deep Throat” which made her a household name.

According to the New York Times, Hollywood has been waiting a long time for Lindsay Lohan to become healthy enough to portray the story of the adult-film star.

But Hollywood will wait no longer after The New York Times disclosed that when Lohan failed a drug test on September 3rd, the director of “Inferno”, Matthew Wilder, made the decision to continue on with the film, but without Lohan.

“We have stuck by Lindsay very patiently for a long time with a lot of love and support,” Wilder said, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Wilder explained to The Hollywood reporter that with there being the “impossibility” of obtaining insurance for Lohan, it would not be plausible to continue on with the film if Lohan were involved.

Wilder deemed the best decision would be to replace Lohan with Swedish born actress Malin Akerman who had stared in “Watchmen” and “The Proposal”.

Shockya.com stated that even though Akerman is eight years older than Lohan, Akerman was officially chosen to replace her since Akerman appeared in several nude scenes in “Watchmen” without a body double.

When Lohan was planned to be involved in the film, shooting was scheduled to start in January of 2011. Currently, there is no word yet when “Inferno” will begin shooting with Akerman as the lead role.
